Nestled in the green hills embracing Lake Garda, our Country Home is the result of a centuries-old passion for the land, tradition, and nature.
From Duke Gaetano De Ferrari…
Our story begins in 1873 when Duke Gaetano De Ferrari, a distinguished Genoese financier, purchased the Island of Garda for his beloved wife, Maria De Annenkoff. On that island, rich in history and natural beauty, the Duke built a sumptuous Venetian-style villa, surrounded by a magnificent park and a prosperous agricultural estate.
… to the Cavazza family
Upon the Duke’s death in 1883, the property passed to his only daughter, Anna Maria, who was married to Prince Scipione Borghese. After World War I, the estate was inherited by Anna Maria’s daughter, Livia, who, along with her husband, Count Alessandro Cavazza, brought significant innovations to the agricultural estate. Under their guidance, new cultivation and farming methods were introduced, transforming the estate into a model of efficiency and productivity.
After World War II, with the advent of mechanisation, the estate transitioned to direct management. Upon Donna Livia’s death in 1970, the estate was divided among her three children. The eldest, Engineer Novello Cavazza, inherited the lands of Manerba and Moniga, modernising the estate and further developing olive cultivation.
The Estate Today
Today, the estate is managed by Robertotogether with his mother Alessandra and brother Marco and a passionate and attentive staff, offering a serene environment, ideal for those who enjoy timeless relaxation and sporting activities.
